Summer ready for big return
Last August, Donna Summer burned it up at the Bank of America Pavilion, but the Queen of Disco may return with something a bit more lush and sedate next time. After a performance with veteran producer and friend David Foster Sunday in Pasadena, Calif., Summer said the pair is teaming up on a new album. We hope to start by the end of this year or early next year, the Boston native told the Globe. We both have a ton of other projects to do but weve been talking about it, actually making a list and checking it twice and getting it all together. Summer is one of the featured Friends in an upcoming PBS special called Hitman Returns: David Foster & Friends. Although she was again nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Summer again missed the final cut. Asked if it was an honor just to be nominated, she said with a laugh, No its an honor to win! She added that it indeed was an honor to be recognized but its clear that shes ready to go from nominee to inductee. Hitman Returns was recorded in October in Las Vegas and also includes appearances from Seal, who duets with Summer on Un-Break, Josh Groban, Jackie Evancho, Ne-Yo, Natalie Cole, and others. It will air during the pledge drive in March.
